Abstract

Fastening strips; ' fly ' parts; seams.-A method of mounting fasteners on parts of garments such as ' flues ' consists in stitching the fasteners between base and face strips and folding back a portion of the face strip to conceal the seam. The fastener, such as an eye 15, is arranged between a base strip 8 folded to form two plies and a face strip 10 which is initially extended, as shown in Fig. 7, with a small fold 14. The two strips and the fastener are connected by a seam 16. The face strip is then turned back along a fold line 11, Fig. 4, to conceal the seam and the folded portion 14 is attached to the edge 19 of the garment and to the base strip by a seam 21. In a modification, the fastener is arranged between the plies of the base strip with its eye portion extending through a slit in the upper ply. The face strip is folded and attached in the manner already described.
