Abstract

487,027. Two-part couplings. PLESSEY CO., Ltd., COSTA, H. DA, and PACKMAN, P. J. Nov. 8, 1937, No. 30653. [Class 38 (i)] The contacts 13 of a thermionic valve holder or like coupling member are fixed by means of recesses 16 that engage the margins of openings 12 in a base-plate 10 into which the contacts are inserted by a lateral movement. A second plate 19 having openings 20 that fit the upper end 14 of the contacts is then applied to the base-plate to secure the contacts. The plate 19 has the usual central guide hole 22. In a modification, Fig. 6 (not shown), the openings 12 are replaced by closed slots through which the end 14 of the contacts is passed and the contacts are turned through 90 degrees to engage the recesses 16 with the sides of the slot. The plate 19 then prevents the reverse movement and so secures the contacts.
