Abstract

485,921. Fastenings. RIMES, C. L. Oct. 24, 1936, No. 28953. [Class 44] A fastener for a car bonnet comprises aslidinglymounted and spring-held staple 14 on the car frame, a pivoted catch 6 on the bonnet 3, an operating lever 1 which may lie flush with the bonnet in the fastening position and a link 10 connecting the lever and the catch. The parts are arranged so that in the fastening position the link 10 is substantially at or beyond the dead centre position. The catch 6 may be replaced by one slidingly mounted on the inside of the bonnet. Locking means such as a spring-pressed bolt may be used to engage the free end of the lever 1 when in the fastening position. Specification 456,012 is referred to.
