Abstract
222,284. Conway, T. Aug. 21, 1923. Multiple - bolt fastenings; staples for locks.-A refrigerator and like door fastening comprises a pivoted bolt to which is pivoted a pair of vertical bolts, the bolts engaging staples so shaped that they force the door into its seating when fastened and release the door therefrom when released. The bolt 4 is pivoted at 7 to the door and has a pair of bolts 2 pivoted to it. One end of the bolt 4 engages a staple 5 with a boss B to force the door into, or away from, its seating when engaged or disengaged, and its other end forms the handle for operation. The staples 3 of the vertical bolts 2 are bevelled as shown in Fig. 4 for the same purpose. Strong springs 8 may be mounted in the staples 3 to force the bolts, and consequently the door, away from the door seating as the bolts are withdrawn. Specification 15227/86 is referred to.
