Abstract
484,957. Clip fastenings for straps &c. BAUER, K. Sept. 2, 1937, No. 23971. [Class 44] A clip fastening for brace &c. straps comprises a bar 17 integral with a main plate 12 apertured at 19, and a bowed flexible clamping plate 14 carried by the main plate and adapted to be snapped over, by pressure applied to one face, to present a convex surface towards or away from the main plate. Bar 17 is preferably straight and plate 12 curved as shown and the edges 13 are bent over to form guides for the strap and to retain the clamping plate 14 which is further secured by indents 16. In use, bar 17 is permanently connected to one end of the strap &c. The other end 18 of the strap is passed through the space between the bar 17 and plate 12. Fig. 11 and plate 14 is then snapped towards plate 12 to grip the strap, Fig. 13. As shown, plate 14 has teeth 15 which bite into the strap &c. but a modification is described in which the teeth are omitted, aperture 19 is smaller than shown, and of elliptical form, and plate 14 has a rounded hump registering with the aperture to kink the strap.
