484,643. Sharpening machine-cutters. CONSOLIDATED RUBBER MANUFACTURERS, Ltd. July 14, 1937, No. 19551. Convention date, July 15, 1936. [Class 60] [Also in Group VIII] In a machine for slitting tyre treads transversely, a driven rotary cutter 64 is carried by a support 58 mounted on parallel links 55, 82 ; the links 55 are oscillated to traverse the cutter. The cutter is intermittently sharpened by an abrasive wheel 39 which is automatically moved into and out of contact with the cutter by springs 94, 95 anchored at one end to a lever 90 carrying the wheat 93 and at the other end to the support 58 and a link 55 respectively.
