Abstract

273,096. Forshaw, R. June 26, 1926. Machine cutters, grinding in situ.-Apparatus for sharpening the rotary blade of a slicing machine consists of a head a carrying sharpening- wheels b, c and mounted on a spindle e, which is slidable in a socket f carried by the machine frame. A pin or handle h secured to the spindle passes through a cam slot g in the socket, so that upon depression of the handle, the wheels b, c are turned by the slot into a position over the blade, and vice versa. A spring i, or a balance weight, holds the head a normally in the raised inoperative position with the wheels clear of, and at an angle to the blade. The cam slot may be formed in the spindle e and the pin provided on the socket.
