Abstract
481,679. Handles. VACTRIC, Ltd., and BUTTERFIELD, L. J. Oct. 28, 1936, No.29271. [Class 61 (i)] One of the limbs 3 of the pivoted handle bail of a vacuum cleaner, floor polisher, &c. carries an arched bracket 10 adapted to engage a springy catch 11 on the machine body to hold the handle 1 in vertical out-of-use position. The bracket 10 coacts with a stop 12 on the machine body to limit the free swinging of the handle normally to about 45‹ from the vertical, but the bracket may be disengaged from the stop 12 to permit the handle to be swung into horizontal position by means of a pedal 7 adapted to displace the end of the springy bail limb 3 outwardly along its pivot 5.
