Abstract
481,485. Atomizers. MALTNER GES., H. Aug. 17, 1937, Nos. 22527 and 22528. Convention dates, Aug. 22, 1936 and Dec. 3, 1936. [Class 69 (iii)] A portable atomizer suitable for carrying in a hand bag comprises a flattened case formed in two parts 1, 2, Figs. 1 and 2, telescoping into one another, the lower part carrying two pistons 5 surrounded by springs 6, which enter cylinders 4 carried by the upper part, between which is mounted a liquid receptacle 10. The cylinders deliver air through tube 11 connected to a nozzle 11a directed across a nozzle on a dip tube 13. These nozzles are mounted opposite an opening 14 in a tubular extension of the vessel 10. This extension is surrounded by a sleeve having a corresponding opening 18 and is provided with a flange 15a which when the sleeve is turned to close the opening 14 may engage claws 20 formed on the lower part I of the casing to lock the apparatus. The amount of turning of the sleeve may be limited by a pin-and-slot connection with the upper part 2 of the casing. In a modification the air tube is connected to a passage 25a in a member 26 provided with a spring-pressed ball valve 30.
