Abstract

479,872. Centrifugal separators. JORGENSEN, M. VOGEL-. Aug. 13, 1936, No. 22368. [Class 23] The conveyer flights 14, for moving the components of the material treated in a centrifugal separator to the discharge openings 16, 17, have resilient edges and are resiliently mounted, or the rotating casing 4 may have a resilient lining. The material is fed through the fixed tube 11 with a partition strip 12, to the tubes 13 as described in Specification 479,891. These tubes open into the space between the inner and outer bodies 1, 4 which rotate at different speeds, the ratio of which is determined by the gearing 8. The body 1 has a conical upper part and a cylindrical lower part and carries an helical rib 18. This is fixed directly to 'the upper part and to longitudinal ribs 19 on the lower part. Bolts 20 secure rubber blocks 21 with metal cover plates 24, and rubber supports 22, 23, to the helical rib 18; the blocks 21 form sections of the conveyer flights 14 and reach the inner wall of the casing 4.
