Abstract
479,280. Woven fabrics. GENERAL RIBBON MILLS, Inc. June 2, 1936, No. 15418. Convention date, Jan. 24. [Class 142 (iv)] An ornamental ribbon &c. for forming bows &c. and tying packages has a surface including alternate strips of textile material and strips of non-woven material 42 such as paper held in position by a fine weft or fine weft portions floated over both faces of the strip, so that substantially the entire surface of at least one of the strip faces is visible. The central section is an open mesh fabric formed by fine textile warp and weft threads 46, 48. The edge sections include flat tinsel warp threads 56 and groups of warp threads 58. The strips may be of cellulosic film or artificial paper, or of the non fibrous sheet materials derived from cellulose esters and ethers. Designs may be printed on the strips. The tinsel threads may vary in colour. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes a fabric comprising a central wide strip of unwoven sheet material and side portions which include flat tinsel threads and edge warp threads of textile material. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
