Abstract
476,992. Friction clutches. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. July 6, 1937, No. 18750. Convention date, July 6, 1936. [Class 80 (ii)] An electromagnetic clutch arranged between axially-spaced driving and driven shafts 1 and 2 comprises a friction disc 10 which is adjustably secured to a ring 48 connected to a hub 7, secured on the end of the shaft 2, through a flexible disc 49 and which is adapted to be clamped between a disc 31 adjustably secured to a field member 8 and a disc 41 secured to an armature member 9. The latter is connected to the member 8 through a flexible disc 35, while the member 8 is connected to a hub 5, secured on the end of the shaft 1, through a flexible disc 44, and is rigidly secured to a member 11 which is supported at its ends by members 15 and 18, bolted to the hubs 5 and 7, through selfaligning roller bearings 12 and 13 so as to permit misalignment of the shafts. The adjustment devices for the discs 10 and 31 each comprises a screw plug 53 and a clamping screw 54. Upon removal of the bolts 17 and 20, which secure the members 15 and 18 to the hubs 5 and 7, the clutch may be removed as a unit,
