[Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXVIII] Relates to apparatus for driving sound-films and the like at uniform speed of the kind comprising a sprocket wheel driving the film and a friction roller driven by the film and rigid with a fly-wheel. According to the invention, the sprocket wheel 13 is coaxial with the friction roller 1 and is driven by the driving motor through a resilient connection. As shown, the sprocket 13 is rigidly attached to a sleeve 8 connected by springs 15, 16 to a gear wheel 14 driven by the motor, the sleeve 8 surrounding the shaft 3 connecting the friction roller 1 and the fly-wheel 4 together..
