Abstract

473,416. Spectacles. RIEGLER, F. May 4, 1937, No. 12732. [Class 97 (i)] In spectacle frames wherein the side pieces terminate in parts passing round the ears a loop or shoulder is provided at the junction of each side piece and its ear piece. In Fig. 1 the side piece a is connected to the ear piece b by a bend or loop c, the axes of the parts a, b intersecting at a point s in front of the bend. The part b may have a sheath or cover d. In Fig. 5 a shoulder c is formed at the top of that part of the ear piece which abuts against the back of the ear, the ear piece being formed by a sheath d thickened on the side towards the ear and curved to conform to the ear. The side pieces and ear pieces may be formed as separate parts, the ear pieces having either recesses or tubular extensions in which the side pieces are inserted.
