Abstract

524,366. Spectacle frames. BLACKBURN, A., and RAPHAELS, Ltd. Jan. 28, 1939, No. 3017. [Class 97 (i)] Each side-arm 1 is outwardly curved along its middle portion to conform to the shape of the face, but is reversely curved at its forward end 3, so that these ends of the two arms lie approximately parallel to each other when the frame is in use. The rear end of each arm may also be reversely curved. The arms may be of elongated spear form in side view ; they may be roughened or serrated on their inner faces 4 to provide a firmer grip on the face ; their free ends may be curved to encircle the ears ; and they may be made of tortoiseshell, synthetic resin, shaped metal strip, or metal wire forming an openwork structure.
