Abstract

An article made of an aluminium alloy containing 3-15 per cent of magnesium and zinc in proportions corresponding approximately to the compound MgZn2-e.g. 1,6 per cent of magnesium and 6,4 per cent of zinc-is subjected to anodic treatment. The alloy may contain small quantities of one or more of the metals titanium, nickel, manganese, and cerium, examples containing specified proportions of these metals and also of silicon and iron being described.
