469,351. Cigarette-making machines. RUAU, F. F., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd. Aug. 12, 1936, No. 22181. [Class 130] Apparatus for delivering cigarettes from a continuous-rod machine comprises a conveyer 5 travelling at a greater speed than that of the rod and means which engage. the rear end face of each cigarette and move the cigarette axially to form equal spaces between the cigarettes. The means may be arranged to operate in the same manner as the fingers 39 described in Specification 430,742 or they may comprise projections 6 on a rotatable roller 7 disposed above the conveyer 5. To maintain the cigarettes in spaced relationship they are gripped adjacent a stationary guide 10, between parallel runs of the conveyer 5 and of spring bands 8. The bands 8 converge towards the conveyer 5 between the roller 7 and the guide 10.
