Abstract
467,733. Bellows. HOFF, C. VON. Nov. 12, 1935, No. 14246/37. Divided out of 469,172, [Group VI]. [Class 8 (i)] [Also in Group VI] In respiratory apparatus including a lung-operated bellows a, a double bellows b, b, with fixed ends and a central partition, is connected to the bellows a by a lever g having an adjustable point of application to the partition, the two chambers of bellows b being connected to the oxygen supply q and to the respiratory circuit through non-return valves such that the oxygen supply is directly proportioned to quantity of air respired. In modifications a single bellows such as b is separated from bellows a by a second-order lever, or is enclosed in the bellows a, the two bellows having common base and top boards, or is mounted beside, and between the same boards with, a bellows of the hinged type. The single bellows b may contain a tension spring or may be pressed upon by a compression spring to compensate for the oxygen pressure.
