Abstract

466,956. Vehicle antidazzle-screens. MIDLAND GEAR CASE CO., Ltd., and SMITH, W. B. Dec. 14, 1935, Nos. 34715/35 and 95/36. [Class 103 (ii)] A vehicle antidazzle device comprises an antidazzle screen c mounted at one of its edges on a rod supported at its ends on a rigid strip or bar which forms a permanent part of a vizor a or which is rigidly attachable to an existing vizor, the screen being thus angularly-adjustable on the vizor. As shown, the vizor is formed of two celluloid &c. panels 2, 3 enclosing a U-shaped frame a<3> and a metal strip a4 having cranked ends a for rotatably supporting a metal rod h enclosed by a tubular member c<2> having flanges c<3> between which the translucent celluloid &c. screen c is secured. Frictional adjustment of the screen about the rod is effected by a nut h<5> and spring washer h<4> on one end of the rod, while adjustment of the vizor about a supporting bracket g is effected by frictional engagement of a link f with the bracket and with a clip coupling e which in turn is frictionally connected with the frame a3. In modification, the screen is mounted as above described on the metal strip a<4>, but the strip is secured to two clips adapted to be fastened to the lower free edge of an existing vizor.
