Abstract
465,950. Fusible cut-outs. GREGORY, H. J., GOULD, E. F. H., and RADLEY, W. G. Nov. 13, 1935, Nos. 31344/35 and 3099/36. [Class 38 (i)] A delayed-action fuse comprises a strip of foil reinforced on one side by insulating material and arranged in close contact with a heatabsorbing insulating body. The foil may be formed by electrodeposition, cathodic sputtering, spraying, &c. on paper which may be impregnated with a good heat conductor such as shellac. Alternatively the foil may be coated on one side with a cellulose derivative or other plastic material. As shown, the strip 1 is wound upon a glass or ceramic rod 2 and at its ends it is given several turns and soldered to caps 3 closing the enclosing insulating tube 5.
