Abstract

555,951. Fusible cut-outs. BESWICK, K. E., BESWICK, D. G. E., and MELBOURN, W. F. March 17, 1942, No. 3547. [Class 38 (i)] A fusible element 3 is enclosed on each side of the point of fusion by a sheath 1 of metal on insulation and baffles 5 of asbestos &c. are threaded over the inner end of the sheath and fit within the cartridge to support the element. Beads of insulating material may be threaded over the metal sheath. The sheath may be of higher resistance and melting point than the fuse and may be secured thereon by flattening, crimping, or hard soldering.
