Abstract
463,895. Gas burners. BRITISH FURNACES, Ltd., and HOPKINSON, P. Feb. 27, 1936, No. 5936. [Class 75 (i)] In a mixing-device for gas burners of furnaces in which gas is admitted under control of a govemor m through a supply pipe k to an annular chamber e and is drawn through inlets v in a Venturi tube b by air under pressure passing through the tube, the gas supply to the chamber e is regulated by an outer hollow screw valve n co-operating with a seat o to provide a coarse adjustment and an inner needle valve q controlling an inlet r in a plug s to provide a fine adjustment. Perforated diaphragms 2, 3 may be provided in the discharge end of the Venturi tube and in the burner head y respectively. The valve n is fitted in a chamber h communicating through a lateral port with the chamber e and is closed at the outer end by a threaded plug w. The plug s can be changed for one having a smaller or larger inlet. The Venturi tube is connected with the head y by a pipe x fitted with a shut-off valve z.
