Abstract
463,623. Boots and shoes. WILLIAMSON, E. July 29, 1935, No. 21494. [Class 17 (ii)] An innersole has an aperture cut out at its forepart leaving a marginal rand D, Fig. 2, preferably the width of the lasting allowance of the upper. The forepart to the line A is covered with a layer C, Fig. 3, of lining canvas and before or after lasting the upper, preferably after lasting, a filler E of soft material, such as sponge rubber, is secured in the aperture with its rear face attached to the covering layer C and with its front face projecting above the surface of the insole. In order to provide seating means for the front end of a shank stiffener or metatarsal pad, the rear edge of the aperture in the insole may project forwardly as shown at B, Fig. 2. Specifications 23670/92, [Class 17], and 452,492 are referred to.
