Abstract
462,223. Lacemaking. GOODLEY, C. May 29, 1935, No. 15676. Convention date, Nov. 26, 1934. [Class 74 (i)] A curtain lace fabric is provided in which, along with known effects there is double pillaring of the spool threads alternating vertically and horizontally with warp threads not tied to the spool threads. Alternate spool threads are pillared with their own warp threads and with adjacent spool threads which have been traversed from their own warp threads to adjacent warp threads. The Figure shows an eighteen motion diamond effect made by floating two sets of spool threads a<1>, ax and tying them to selected warp threads b. The spool threads may also be tied to each other, as shown at 7 to form clothing. The interceptors can be withdrawn at various motions, to enable various equal or unequal sided diamond nets to be produced. Ordinary pillaring is obtained by moving the interceptors into the spool threads when the carriages are in the back combs. The thick or double pillaring shown at 10x is secured by introducing alternate interceptors into the threads when the carriages are in the back combs and withdrawing them when the carriages are in the front combs. The fabrie is made on a machine having a warp bar and a spool bar which move one gait and two gaits respectively to the left and to the right on the back and front motions and interceptors which are movable to two positions only.
