Abstract

461,089. Impedance networks. COLE, Ltd., E. K., BRADFIELD, G., and INSKIP, F. A. Sept. 18, 1936, No. 25834. [Class 40 (iii)] In a band-pass filter comprising two circuits L1 C1, L2 C2, tuned to the same frequency, the selectivity can be varied by varying a resistance R1 included in one of the circuits. Simultaneously the coupling is varied so as to keep the sensitivity constant ; to this end a condenser Cm is connected in series with the resistance. The network may be used as shown for coupling a frequencychanger valve V1 to an intermediate-frequency amplifier V2, or for coupling an intermediate-frequency amplifier to a diode detector, Fig. 4 (not shown).
