Abstract

460,093. Fuse boards. BRITISH INSULATED CABLES, Ltd., and BLADES, R. W. July 20, 1935, Nos. 20666/35 and 13141/36. [Class 38 (i)] A multiple connection device for multi-core cables comprises elongated sealing boxes 2 or bars carrying cable terminals 3 associated with contacts 4, and busbars 5 mounted on rods 22 independent of some or all of the boxes &c. 2 and carrying contacts 6 situated in line with the contacts 4 for connection thereto by fuses or links 7. The terminals 3 are mounted in insulating bushings 11, 12 in the wall of the boxes 2 and the boxes are supported on transverse angle bars 27, 33. These bars also support the rods 22 that consist of a metal core with an insulating sheath around which brackets 18 for the bus-bars are clamped. Another set of bus-bars may be supported on bushings in the boxes &c. 2, the contacts of which align with secondary contacts formed on or clamped to the contacts 4 so that the interconnection of the cables may be varied.
