Abstract
361,039. Junction boxes. BRITISH INSULATED CABLES, Ltd. and BLADES, R. W., Lynwood, Eccleston Park, both in Prescot, Lancashire. Sept. 13, 1930, No. 27396. [Class 38 (i).] In a junction box in which the connectors and bus-bars are arranged substantially as described in Specification 326,332, [Class 38 (i), Electric couplings &c.], the bus-bars and connectors are mounted on a panel of insulating material. The panel which may be in one piece as in Fig. 1 or in sections joined together as in Fig. 3, has a centre row of slots 18 through which the vertical ends of the V-shaped bus-bars 7 project and are held in position by projections 19 and split pins 20, and has two rows of slots 17 in which are mounted the vertical connectors 4. The box is designed for cables having four cores but it is provided with an auxiliary bus-bar 25 and connectors for the connection of cables having a fifth core. These are mounted in additional slots in extensions 32 of the panel. The panel is bolted to a supporting bracket 14. In a modification shown in Fig. 4 the panel is in two parts, the bus-bars being supported between them. The sections 12 have slots 18 and the busbars 7 have slots which interengage.
