457,577. Supplying air for combustion. ROBIN, M., 14, Rue Brochant, Paris. March 13, 1936, No. 7616. Convention date, July 4, 1935. [Class 51 (i)]' Air for combustion is supplied into the fuel on the firegrate of a boiler furnace through one or more vertical pipes 21<1> provided with downwardly and laterally extending flattened branches 21 terminating in slot-like orifices 20. The pipes may also be provided with branches 23, Fig. 3, which deliver air above the fuel. When the furnace is of large dimensions a number of air delivery pipes may be used extending over the length or breadth or both the length and breadth of the furnace and connected to a single air supply pipe 22 or to individual air supply pipes.
