Abstract

455,998. Supports for electric incandescent lamp filaments. ARCHITECTURAL LIGHTING, Ltd., 39, Berners Street, London, and MACWATT, S. L., 28, Barn Way, Wembley Park, Middlesex. May 3, 1935, No. 13230. [Class 39 (ii)] In a tubular electric incandescent lamp provided with a filament extending the length of the tube, the filament 2 is carried by a support or spine consisting of a wire 3 sealed at both ends into the straight portions of vitreous tubes 6 which, at their other ends, are bent upwardly to enclose supporting-wires 9 for the ends of the filament. Pigtails 4 support the filament upon the wire 3, which is itself supported within the tube 1 by struts 5 secured to it by glass beads. Within the tubes 6 the inner ends of the wires 9 are connected to leading-in wires 10 which pass through nipples 7 provided to secure the lamp in a clip or clips. Rings or hooks 8 may be formed in the wires 9, 10 to secure them together.
