Abstract
402,664. Electric incandescent lamps. PERRIN, M. C., 52, Boulevard Pasteur, and VINZANT, J. E., 43, Rue Caumartin, both in Paris. April 21, 1933, Nos. 11700 and 11701. Convention dates, May 12, 1932 and Feb. 21, 1933. [Class 39 (ii).] A tubular lamp has insulating and flexible filament supporting elements connected so as to form a flexible chain adapting itself to the contours of the tube. In one form, Fig. 1, support elements 5 of mica are threaded on a wire 20 so that they lie with their planes parallel to the axis of the tube. Each element carries a loop 15 which receives the filament. The end 1<1> of the tube is flared so that the filament and supports are readily drawn through. The support elements may have various shapes. In a modification, the wire 20 fits in slots in the elements 5 and acts as the return current lead. If the tube is bent, the elements may bear against each other at the bends. In another modification, Fig. 5, the elements 5 are curved and retained in position by their own elasticity. In another modification, a ribbon of mica is folded so as to provide vertical portions having eyelets through which the filament passes, and horizontal portions linking the vertical portions. In another modification, elements 30, Fig. 10, have tongues 31 which can be bent upward to serve as filament supports. Successive elements 30 are joined together by eyelets, or by clips or by engaging a tongue 31 through the corresponding aperture of the next element. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also comprises a tube 1, Fig. 9 (Cancelled) having constrictions in which mica discs 5 carrying the filament are retained. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
