Abstract
455,483. Weaving fabric in folds &c. SPOERRI, E., Hittnau, Zurich, Switzerland. May 7, 1936, No. 12875. Convention date, May 15, 1935. [Class 142 (ii)] To avoid the formation of streaks, &c., at the fabric edge in weaving tubular fabrics &c., wires 4 having thickened front ends or metallic balls 8, thereon are clamped by screws 7 in holders 6 pivoted on carriers 5. These are each mounted on a pair of bars 2 guided by an adjustable guide 1 on the loom frame and raised by means of a suspension hook 3 connected with the shedding mechanism, so that the wires, which are drawn in with the outermost warp threads, lie freely in the tube &c. The forward travel of the fabric causes the wires to be extended and take up the pull of the weft thread. In a modification, a wire is used which is drawn through an eye secured to a steel spring fitted to the loom frame.
