Abstract

1,126,415. Weaving pile fabric. BOUCHER & CO. Ltd. and G. N. LYGO. 15 March, 1967 [15 March, 1966], No. 11193/66. Headings DIE and D1K. In a loom in which pile is formed by wrapping pile yarns 26 round warp wise wires 10, the rear ends of the wires are bifurcated at 21a, 21b and twisted out of the vertical -plane.. As a pile yarn is lowered by a heald frame it passes down one side of the pile wire and when it is raised it is deflected to pass up the other side. By keeping pile yarns raised for a number of consecutive picks, longer tufts can be produced.
