[Class 38 (v)] [See also Group XI] A thermal flasher for a lamp having two filaments F1, F2 comprises a contact a mounted on a main bimetallic strip L1 with a heating coil E and a co - operating contact b mounted on a compensating bimetallic strip L2, the parts being arranged in circuit as shown. With the contacts closed most of the current passes through the heater E and the filament F2 alone is lit. The heater causes the contacts to separate and both filaments to light up. The lamp may be differently coloured opposite the separate filaments and the switch may be mounted in a pocket opening off the bulb enclosure.
