Abstract
396,692. Electric battery lamps. MILLER, F. J., 9, Stonehouse Road, Sutton Coldfield. Jan. 5, 1932, No. 273. [Class 39 (ii).] In a cycle or like lamp of the type having a main or full-light bulb and a pilot or dim-light bulb controlled by a switch the switch and its connections are mounted on an insulating carrier at the back of the reflector housing, the lamp casing serving as a return conductor. The switch comprises a spindle b<2> carrying an arm b<1> adapted to make contact with either of two metal strips e<1>, e<2> secured to a sheet a<3> of insulating material. The end of the strip e<2> is connected by a stud g<3> to a strip g<1> on the other side of the sheet a3 and the strips g<1>, e<1> are connected to springs g<2> making contact with the bulbs c, c<1>. A metal strip e connects the switch with one pole of the battery and the other is connected with the lamp-sockets through the casing. The strips are attached to the sheet a<3> by ears i passing through the sheet and bent over. The strip e is separated from the strips e<1>, e<2> by a sheet f of insulating material attached to the sheet a<3> by pieces of gummed paper. Another such sheet separates the pieces g<1>, g<2> from the casing.
