Abstract
451,802. Tables or desks. MAVITTA, W., Anchor Works, Park Road, Aston, Birming- ham. May 14, 1935, No. 14087. [Class 52 (iii)] In a draughtsman's table, the drawing-board is trunnioned in a frame which is vertically adjustable and is counterweighted. As shown, the drawing-board a is attached to two brackets a<1> each mounted by means of a sleeve on a spindle a<3> which connects the two vertical side members b. Each sleeve a<2> has a boss c<1> in which is adjustably secured a rod c<2> carrying a weight c. A toothed quadrant e, which forms part of a spacer between the bracket a<1> and the vertical member b, serves to control the slope of the board a, being set by means of a spring- loaded detent d withdrawable by a hand lever d3. The height of the table a is adjusted by causing the parts b to telescope with respect to frames f. They are supported by a counterweight b<1>, and move between rollers f<1> ; they are set by a spring-loaded detent g operated by a treadle g<3>, and engaging a rack b<4>.
