Class 52(iii) A column 6 is vertically and rotatably adjustable in a pedestal 4 and counterbalanced by a weight 18 secured to a footstep bearing 15a by cords 16 passing over a pulley 17. A split ring 19 normally grips the column and can be expanded by a cam with pedal-operated linkage 21, 22 when adjustment is desired. A drawing board 10 carried by a tube 8 rotatable in a sleeve 7 on the column for angular adjustment is held in the selected position by a spring bolt 13 engaging a perforated quadrant 11.
