Abstract

448,277. Yarn-clearers. FINE COTTON SPINNERS & DOUBLERS ASSOCIATION, Ltd., and WHITEHEAD, P. B., St. James's Square, Manchester. Jan. 4, 1936, No. 296. [Class 120 (ii)] Clearer plates are formed with a parallel slot a leading to an enlarged hole or slot a<1> and an inclined slot a<2> and are arranged in a winding-machine so that they are adjustably inclined to the normal running line of the yarn, whereby, if a minor fault occur, the yarn runs down the plate and permits it to pass through the hole a<1> and if the fault is a slub or snarl it is arrested by the slot a<2> and the yarn is broken. The plates may be straight or the parts containing the slots may be inclined, as shown in Fig. 5, and may comprise two adjustable parts which co-operate to form the slots.
