Abstract
445,707. Pianofortes. EAVESTAFF & SONS, Ltd., W. G., and DOWNING, G. H., Ashfield Road, Finsbury Park, London. Oct. 16, 1934, No. 29590. [Class 88 (ii)] In a miniature upright pianoforte, i.e. with the action 17, 19 below the keyboard 14, the action carried by the standards 2 together with the keyboard may be swung on pivots 4 away from the frame 7 to facilitate access to the strings. The top of the piano case and the back are removable to permit this. In normal position the keybed is secured by screws 12, 12a to the top edge of the wrestplank 13 and a rail 21 respectively. In a modification, the action is arranged in front of the frame, and with the keyboard swings forwardly. Specification 377,641 is referred to.
