Abstract
445,510. Ball and like mills. GERNET, H. J. M. VON, 132, 7th Avenue, Capital Park, Pretoria, South Africa. July 26, 1935, No. 21298. Convention date, March 6. [Class 59] In a mill the number of grinding bodies is less than the number of compartments in the drum and the relative dimensions are such that the bodies move from one compartment to another during the rotation of the drum. As shown the drum 1 is of trefoil section and the grinding elements comprise rollers 2, 3 which may be solid. Material is fed in through one trunnion in the cover plate and is discharged through the other. As the drum rotates the roller 2 passes over the roller 3 and drops into the next or lowermost chamber.
