Da die Walzenmäntel sich in der Mitte am meisten abnutzen, weil dorthin das meiste Mahlgut fällt, so müssen die Enden, d.. h. die äußeren Teile der Walen, mitunter nachgeschliffen werden, damit die entstandene Unebenheit einigermaßen ausgeglichen wird. G emäß der Erfindung wird der Walzenmantel in axialer Richtung aus mehreren gleichen Ringen zusammengesetzt, die gegeneinander umgewechselt werden können. Bei der in der Zeichnung dargestellten Bauart besteht der Walzenmantel a aus vier einzelnen Ringen i, 2,3 und q.. Jeder Teil sitzt auf einem kegelförmigen Ring 5, 6, 7, wobei die Kegelflächen sämtlicher Ringe Durchmesser von derselben Größe haben, so daß die Mantelringe gegen einen anderen ausgetauscht werden können. Es können also z. B. die Ringe -- und 3 gegen die Ringe i und 4. ausgetauscht werden. Der mittlere Ring 6, auf dem die mittleren Ringe des Mantels sitzen, wird hydraulisch auf die Welle R aüfgepreßt.
