[Class 39 (i)] A valve has an insulating bridge which spaces electrode supports and is located in a dome-shaped part of the envelope, and the periphery of the bridge is provided with projections varying in length, some or all of which are broken or bent by the dome so as to provide two or more effective diameters of the bridge. The bridge may be a circular or cruciform sheet 7 of mica provided with groups of fingers 10 of varying lengths.
