444,087. Handle-bars. REYNOLDS, E. A., c/o Reynolds Tube Co., Ltd., Redfern Road, Tyseley, Birmingham. Jan. 12, 1935, No. 1121. [Class 136 (iii)] Means for securing a cycle handle-bar to its stem comprises the combination with a stem tube a having a tapered upper end, of a handle-bar attachment bracket or lug c formed with a tapered socket e adapted to fit the tapered end of the tube a, a nut g within the tube, and a screw f engaging the nut and bearing against the top of the bracket, so that when the screw f is tightened, the nut g is forced upwards and clamps the tapered tube a and socket e together. Relative rotation of these parts is prevented by a key connection comprising a pin h, which is inserted through a hole in the top of the socket and engages grooves in the tube a and socket e, the pin being held in position by a washer i clamped beneath the head k of the screw f. The handle-bar b is held in a clip d.
