443,349. Cartons &c. GEE, L. F., Moor Lodge, Moor Lane, Crosby, Lancashire, and BATCHELOR, G. H. R., 57, Gracechurch Street, London. Aug. 26, 1935, No. 23806. [Class 66] A closure disc a of paper or the like is provided with a metal bonding ring b the outer edge b<2> of which is clinched around the edge a<1>. The closure is fitted to a container c, Fig. 4, of paper, cardboard, &c. by bending the outer edge of the closure and bonding ring round the edge cl of the container. The container and closure may have annular recesses b3 and the closure may be fitted with a disc d of cardboard sprung into the recess, to serve as a closure when the disc a has been broken. Alternatively, a lever lid or slip-in lid may be fitted into the bonding ring. The inner edge of the bonding ring may be folded or curled.
