Abstract

<PICT:0440974/III/1> A device for freeing a liquid from a gas comprises a casing 1, 2 having a gas outlet valve 11 at its top end, and a liquid valve 8 intermediate its ends which opens against a spring 9 under the weight of the superincumbent liquid, said valves being interconnected so that the opening of the liquid valve closes the gas valve and the closing of the liquid valve permits the gas valve to open. For example the gas valve may be closed by a weight 14 which rests on the liquid valve. The liquid valve may have within it a one-way valve permitting a return flow of liquid.
