Abstract
439,854. Reaping &c. machines. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. OF GREAT BRITAIN, Ltd., 259, City Road, London.- (International Harvester Co. ; 606, South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, U.S.A.) Sept. 23, 1935, No. 26361. [Class 6 (iii)] To reduce wear on the knife sections the knife back 5 to which the knife sections 6 are secured by rivets 7 also has permanently or detachably secured to it cleaning plates 9, the rear part 10 of each of which projects beyond the rear edge of the sections which is flush with the rear face of the knife back and bears on wearing plates 11 or on sections of the wearing strip usually provided on the cutter bar. In the form shown a plate 11 is secured to the knife bar 1 by bolts 3 which also hold down the knife clips 8 and is given a projecting L-shape in the angle of which the cleaning plate 9 bears. The cleaning plate 9 is trapezium shaped in plan and its length is such that at each stroke one end of the plate moves from within to outside the limits of the wearing plate 11.
