Abstract
439,110. Plug couplings. CRABTREE, J. A., Endwood, Little Aston Park, Sutton Coldfield. May 24, 1934, No. 15481. [Class 38 (i)] The socket contacts of a wall-fitting, which may embody a switch, are mounted so as to allow lateral movement for self-alignment, the conductive connections to the sockets consisting of springs that maintain the contacts normally central with respect to the plug entry apertures in the insulating body of the fitting. The socket b<1> is formed with a flat lug b<3> that rests upon the supporting face of the insulating body a. A flat spring c, that may also serve as the current supply connection to a terminal d, keeps the socket central, being attached to the lug b<3> by a stud b<4> and nut b<6>. The head of the former acts as a locating stop, lying loosely in a hole a<4> in the body a. A further stop b<5> may be bent from the lug b<3>. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 286,690, [Class 38 (i)].
