Abstract

438,180. Delivering measured quantities of liquids. GROVES, W. W., 30, Southampton Buildings, Chancery Lane, London.-(Glasfabrik Wilhelmsh³tte Ges. ; Grõfenroda, Thuringia, Germany) March 1, 1935, No. 6507. [Class 106 (v)] In a measuring tap of the kind including one or more measuring chambers adapted to be connected alternately with a liquid supply pipe and with a liquid outlet according to the position of a rotary valve plug, each measuring chamber is adapted to communicate with an overflow chamber which receives the superfluous liquid when the measuring chamber is filled. Liquid from an inlet 1 passes into one of two measuring chambers k<1>, k<2> through bores 2 in a rotary plug h, the other measuring chamber at the same time being connected with the outlet by one of two grooves 7 in the plug and with an air inlet 6 by a groove 5 in the plug. The chamber which is being filled is in communication through one of two ports 4 with the interior of a hollow part o of the plug, which hollow part forms an overflow chamber and is provided with an air port 8. The capacities of the chambers may be altered by the insertion of calibrated plugs s<1>, s<2>.
