Abstract
436,267. Watches. ROGERS, F. H., 181, Queen Victoria Street, London.-(Rodi & Wienenberger Akt.-Ges. ; Pforzheim, Germany) Jan. 21, 1935, No. 1972. [Class 139] In a watch, particularly a wrist watch, the winding and setting button is mounted in the case so that only its serrated edge projects through an aperture in the back of the casing. The casing comprises a back portion 2, and a front portion 1 pivoted thereto at 3, the movement 9 being held between a ring 10 rigid with the case back and a flange on the front 1. A chamber 13 formed by an inner wall 14, lateral walls 19, and the outer wall of the case back 2 is formed in the case back, the wall 14 being slotted to receive the winding stem 15, the button 16 of which is housed in the chamber and projects through the aperture 7 in the inclined portion 6 of the back. The back is indented at 17 to facilitate retraction of the button for hand setting and may be otherwise indented to facilitate winding. The chamber 13 may alternatively be formed by the ring 10, a further ring 18, Fig. 3, secured in the back 4, and the lateral walls 19.
