Abstract
427,348. Boxes for cigarettes &c. BARON, P. H., Arcadia Works, Hampstead Road, London. Dec. 20, 1933, No. 35837. [Class 18] In a box to hold cylindrical articles, e.g. cigarettes, from which the articles are removed in a direction transverse to their length after they have been uncovered from a foil, &c. wrapping, an opening is provided in a wall of the box, and a portion of the rigid flange surrounding the lid has a downward extension which closes this opening. The lid is a hinged or slip-on one, and its flanges overlap the walls of the box. If the opening is formed in the back wall, the flange 4 of the lid 2 is extended to cover this opening when the lid is closed down, and the lid is hinged about the edge 5a. The box is made of rigid material, e.g. metal. The wrapping may be in two parts so that the cigarettes are exposed when the part 7 is drawn off.
