Abstract

424,200. Stairs; roof scaffolding; stands. MARSHALL, A. C., and STEEL SCAFFOLDING CO., Ltd., 80, Regent Street, London. Aug. 14, 1933, No. 22664. [Classes 20 (i), 20 (ii), and 20 (iv)] An adjustable bracket for use on inclined supports in the construction of stairs, platforms and the like, comprises a vertical and a horizontal member connected together by riveting or by a pivot, and adjustably supported at right-angles to each other on the scaffolding by horizontal tubular members 8 clamped to bearers 10 and passing through holes 14, 7 in the respective members. The horizontal members may consist of wood reinforced by metal channels and the vertical member of two metal channels spaced to receive the horizontal members between them. The enclosed projecting ends of the horizontal members are apertured to hold tubular supports 15<a> for seat-carrying plates 16 and for a roof or floor if desired ; the tubes 15<a> are positioned below by sole plates having studs entering the tube. In a modification, the horizontal member is of metal channel slotted to engage the tubular supports 8 and the vertical member consists of two spaced angles having inclined slots for the supports. The horizontal member is slotted for the spacing bolts of the vertical members when folded for transport. The vertical members may have projections to hold channelled ends of metal risers.
